• Our room was clean and comfortable – I slept better there than I do at home! (That has a little to do with not having the kids with us and a lot to do with the bed.) There is so much character throughout the hotel. A very unique and wonderful place to stay. We’ll definitely come again.

When we walked into the lobby I was immediately in love! The mix of old and modern was breathtaking. I loved all of the details. Aaron checked us in and walked us to our room. He had already responded to an email I sent on our way up with recommendations for yummy dinner options. When we got to our room he mentioned the shower head that was a favorite in our room. The room not only met all of your basic requirements: clean, tv, bathroom but went WAY beyond!! The beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was GORGEOUS and the shower head…we stayed one night and both of us showered twice just to stand in that shower! I had sent multiple text within 20 minutes of arrival telling people they needed to come stay. We were sad to only have one night and have already talked about when we can get back up there. Aaron let us see some of the other rooms before we left. They were all beautiful and each had it’s own unique design. Thank you Aaron for such a fabulous birthday surprise!

  • We went on a quick Anniversary trip to Lava Hot Springs. I am so happy that we found the Harkness Hotel online. It is 10 miles outside of Lava Hot Springs which ended up being great. This hotel is beautiful. We loved hearing about the renovation from the owners and seeing the old pictures and nostalgia hanging on the walls. We stayed in the Silver room. We loved the design and decor. The bathroom felt spa like and we wish we could have taken the bed home with us. We look forward to staying at the Harkness Hotel in the future and highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Lava Hot Springs or passing McCammon, ID.

Exquisite gem of luxury hidden in this small Idaho town. 109 year old bank & mercantile building transformed into an exquisite gem of Luxury. The hotel owner and expert designer Aaron, has designed and preformed the work himself creating each room with modern themes to satisfy the needs of the guests whether it be a large family of a couple. We stayed in the Indigo room which was fabulous. As good as the pictures make it look they don’t do it justice. You have to see to believe. In operation for under a year now this is sure to grow into bookings way in advance. I highly recommend. No disappointments here. We will definitely return.

  • What a spectacularly charming hotel. Quiet lobby with a coffee maker that puts most baristas to shame. We stopped here with the whole family on our way to Yellowstone and rented three rooms. They were all equally stunning but we enjoyed the pearl room most of all because of the perfectly stocked kitchen and open floor plan. The beds were extremely comfortable, clean and the bathrooms were immaculate. Great lotions shampoos and soaps.

The Harkness Hotel is a hidden gem in Idaho – the gem state. My daughters and I stayed there on our way to a softball tournament in Soda Springs. After a 3.5 hour drive, arriving at the Harkness was like arriving at an oasis. It is a stunningly beautiful hotel with the most friendly staff and owners. We loved staying in the Gold Room and we can’t wait to return with more of our family in the future. This place is worth every penny and well worth the drive.

  • My girlfriend and I were looking online and chose this hotel because their photos showcased newer, more spacious rooms and bathrooms. When we arrived we were absolutely thrilled to see the quality that the owners put into the rooms. Spacious, modern rooms are hidden inside of the hotel’s unassuming historic building frame. The owner (an interior designer) was very happy to show us his hard work and we were impressed to the point that we took notes on ideas that we intend to implement in our own home.
Fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy the local hot springs or just passing through and wanting a nice place to relax a bit. Will definitely be going back.

This was one of the best places that I have ever stayed.  Clean, renovated, up-to-date, has Wi-Fi and a really cool back vault as a gift shop. If you’re going to Lava Hot Springs this is the place to stay only 10 miles away just a short drive. I could not ask for better accommodations.

  • On our road trip we were looking for a stop, conveniently located on our way to Yellowstone and we booked the Ruby suite to stay with our 3 teenage girls.
The Harkness Hotel’s style and design exceeded our expectations, unexpected in McCammon. High ceilings, old history mixed with modern design. Very nice light from ceiling. We liked the suite so much that we decided to stay to prepare a top notch yummy dinner. Kitchen is very well equipped and owners helped us with the missing bits for our 3 course dinner.
    Beds are super comfortable.
The Harkness Hotel  is also very close to Lava Hot springs, next time we need to stay a day longer to benefit from the natural hot pools.

My wife and I stayed in the Copper Suite, it is amazing!!! We loved this hotel so much that we will never stay anywhere else when going to Lava. Aaron and his wife have done an incredible job with the hotel, they were both so friendly and welcoming. The Harkness Hotel rivals Salt Lake City’s finest hotels. Did I mention we love this place?
